Throughout this project, I have looked and explored over a variety of thoughts and ideas about the range of topics and projects that I could think of and then possibly develop into a great series of images. I am happy with my final images, as they work well to what my topic of images that I need to complete this project but I would have preferred possibly shooting out more on the streets rather than inside the studio. As ever there is areas that I can for sure improve upon, but I can see all the things that should be worked on and If I ever go back into this style of work I will know how to improve it.

Through this project I have become more confident using the studio that we have provided as I now understand more about the controlling of lighting on the model. I have also grown in confidence as a photographer to control the model and ask for things I need in the image rather than them controlling me. To this I have also developed a skill in new cameras o how to use them and other equipment that I may not usually use in my images as I much prefer street styled photography.

Using different lenses in the studio taught me that it doesn’t all depend on the factor of the camera body and the person shooting its also down to lens choice as using the wrong lens could be the difference between are terrible and great image.

I think the worst part of my project is that I have had a poor work ethic to this style of work as after the 1st shoot I found out that I didn’t like this style of work as I prefer taking images of the street, people and buildings as this is more natural to the eye, as in this project I had full control, but not to what I would of liked as when photographers such as William eggelston shoot they have a whole street to control and move any imperfections out, in my case I don’t have the money or funds to create this amount of power influence in my work. So, the reason I didn’t like this project wasn’t because the staged images its more the factor I didn’t have enough control to create the images I wanted, this is the reason I went to the studio as with this I at least had the option of having the model pose as I needed without having to keep readjust everything.

In the thought of time management, I think I did ok as I well organised with the timings of when things had to be done by, the only issue I had was time scaling to get a slot booked into the studio as it was very busy and the studio was booked but at the very last minute so for next time I need to plan for a shoot like this more a head of time such as at least 2-3months ahead before I go to the studio so that I have a good amount of time and space to create more images and the amount of work. I think something I should do to save my self-time and pain is after a photoshoot I should write around my contacts as with this I won’t have a collection of around 200 images to write around all in one go which just turns into a long pain as the number of images just keep growing. This is something that I need to improve and work on so that my work becomes much more time efficient and scaled down so that it’s easy to control.

As well as improving my time management I think I could improve my self-analysis by making much more of a critical a detailed review upon my self and my own work. I want to make sure that my development is obvious through my projects that are to come in the future and be much more detailed in an explanation. So, what I would like to show and include is my developing ideas in better detail, the way I chose to explore my ideas and taking shoots on my developing ideas as then I would understand and know which I prefer working with as a photographer rather than just liked the sound of my ideas.

Even though that this project was fun into listening the ideas and conversations that people may have, the point on having to take the images and create the pictures was more of a pain than I thought as again I didn’t have full control of the background and foreground more of just the props that I had and my model, not more.

I very much like using film currently so I think I should explore this area much more in the style that I like and look into either architecture or street photography, I have also recently purchased a medium format camera (Pentax 67) and I will be getting it on the 15th of may so it will be very fun and interesting exploring the camera. I have also purchased recently 2 box cameras and I will like to test their simplistic use to see how they work and how images turn out, hopefully if there’s not light leaks. I will use these cameras on street and architecture or even around beauty spots to see how they work rather than use them for this style of photography.
