Layout and Display

Floor plan:

For the floor plan we had 3 groups from our class and we all created our own floor plans and then we chose the best one to use that looked the best, the issue with this was that the one used was created by me and this wasn’t the best digital design that was created but the measurements were correct but there was not a lot of information on the floor, compared to another group form the class so I’m not too sure why this floor plan was chosen and used.created by Jan, Jamie, Ray, Aaron and HarrietAfter though our groups created floor plans we created and made real life sets of the floor off the floor plan and I would say our group created the better one out of the other groups as the sizes and layouts looked more correct to scale of how the room looks like and stuck to the size measurements correctly.Our floor plan that my group created is in the centre (this was displayed in the exhibition also).

Display:

My idea to display my work is to use the wall and have 8 of my chosen and made collages around the cube in a circle motion around the cube, and then the cube to be placed centre so that the life cycle is moving such as in  a life cycled motion and the layout fits and works, the thing I noticed and see is that I have 6 landscape collages and 2 portraits so that they look goo and flow correctly I will place the portrait collages parallel to each other and ill place one bellow the box and another above the box, I would like the box to be fairly high up so that I can fit collages underneath the cube also.

To hold the prints/collages in place I will use foam tape to the prints to hold them up throughout the day. Then for the cube the plan is to use some garden string or wire on the 4 faces on the outside to hold the box in place and stand about 10cm away from the wall so that its more forward compared to the other work.

After looking and setting up my work and final pieces for this project I noticed an issue that the wall I got was very big and the closest thing to sting things was 2 meters left and then another 2 meters right and to this there was no way to tie the sting/wire to the floor, so to completely get rid of this mess and not have string going across the exhibition I decided to use Velcro on the back of the cube and placed it onto the wall like the other prints, and the cube still stands out as its 30cmx30cmx30cm so its bigger than the rest of the collages anyway. After setting it all up and looking at it I’m happy as it works very well on the way it looks.I also added a step as the bottom of the box wasn't visible and I wanted people to look at the work at eye height so to achieve this i placed a step so that they can look at the work correctly.
