Change in Work

This was more of a test on what I wanted to do and after doing it I found out I really disliked the work. The thing that I was going for and trying to achieve was cutting out clothing off female and later was going to do male also sexual areas, but for this test I just did normal clothing. The reason I wanted to do this is that we as people have moved and come very far on being open on what is sexual and what’s not as in the 40’s-50s showing you ankles as a female was a big thing it was something such as walking naked in this time and if you showed your knees in the 40’s-50’s as a female you where classed as a prostitute, whore and slut as this was a shameful thing to do as an adult.

So, going off this history that I learnt over at school when learning about the suffragette’s movement, world war and even about Russia and the tsars, it wasn’t only a thing in the UK but around the whole or the world showing yourself off like this as a female was very dangerous and bold.

So what my idea was to take sexual images form books and stencil them out and add a plain white backing to the cut out area and make a magazine out of it as I found this would be interesting, but after doing this test I found it very boarding for myself and not interested as with my work I work off my own energy and vibe to get work created and done, and after learning that I don’t like something instead of pushing and creating something I’m not happy I decided that I will change my work into something else and create collages based on something that will fuel me to keep going and let my imagination go wild to create different types of images that look strange but also amazing in its own way.
